Biden’s Praxis

     In 2021, President Biden rescinded the ban on “diversity and sensitivity” training that instituted racial divisiveness and discrimination, i.e. implemented “praxis”, via Executive Order. Now, he has promulgated an Executive Order that requires the implementation of “equity”. “Equity”, to remind you dear reader, does not mean equality of outcomes, but countering the thesis of White/Male/&c. “privilege” by an equal and opposite antithesis of discrimination against the “privileged” in order to achieve the equality in all things that is the synthesis of their eschaton that this Executive Order is designed to immanentize.

     This executive order requires all agencies and departments to form “Agency Equity Teams” and to submit “Agency Equity Teams” to provide the praxis of their reinvisioning of America into some woke utopia. But it goes farther than that. This praxis is intersectional with includion of Gender and Environmental Justice, and tosses in an obsession with Urban living specifically.

     “Affirmatively Advancing” Civil Rights requirement is reminiscent of Obama’s “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing” plan. In Obama’s housing scheme, he sought to re-engineer all aspects of American housing and neighborhoods. It is clear that Biden seeks to re-engineer all aspects of American society. It is social engineering sub rosa and without even an enabling act!

Utah vs. Diversity Statements

      Universities and colleges are increasingly requiring “diversity statements” which serve as pledges to wokeness and praxis. Now, Utah may end up stepping up to the plate and start swinging back by banning any such “diversity statements” for not only higher education, but K-12, procurement by the state, and government employees. HB 541 says, in part:

(1) (a) As used in this section, “prohibited submission” means a submission, statement, or document that requires a person to articulate or demonstrate the person’s position on a policy or initiative regarding, or other consideration of, race, color, ethnicity, sex, national origin, or age.

(b) “Prohibited submission” includes a submission, statement, or document that relates to a policy, program, or initiative regarding:

(i) diversity, equity, and inclusion;

(ii) anti-racism;

(iii) implicit bias; or

(iv) critical race theory.

(2) An institution may not request a prohibited submission to take action with respect to:

(a) employment, including decisions regarding:

(i) hiring;

(ii) terms of employment;

(iii) benefits;

(iv) seniority status;

(v) tenure;

(vi) promotion;

(vii) transfer; or

(viii) appointment;

(b) admissions and aid, including:

(i) admission to any program, club, or course;

(ii) financial or other forms of aid or assistance; or

(iii) other benefits from the institution for which a person is eligible; or

(c) degree requirements, including:

(i) requirements to obtain credits; or

(ii) requirements for graduation.

(3) An institution may not grant any form of preferential consideration to a person who, without solicitation from the institution, provides a prohibited submission for consideration for any action described in Subsection (2).

      Wokeness should have no place in government and public institutions, which ought to be for all and not a tool of the few to cudgel the rest.

California To Banks: Stop Doing Business With Gun Manufacturers… Or Else!

     Operation Choke Point was a secret government scheme to dissuade banks from working with, amongst others, firearm related businesses. It was a scandal at the time and ended after four years. Now, there is a draft law being openly proposed to ban banks from doing business with California unless those banks refuse to do business with gun manufacturers! The legislative counsel’s digest of SB-637 says, in part:

“Existing law prohibits certain state trust funds from making or holding investments in business firms or financial institutions that engage in specified discriminatory business practices.

“This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to subsequently amend this bill to include provisions that would prohibit financial institutions that do business with gun manufacturers from doing business with the state of California.”

     But what does the bill actually say?

“The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

“SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to subsequently amend this measure to include provisions that would prohibit financial institutions that do business with firearms manufacturers from doing business with the state of California.”

     You know it’s bad when they need to keep the details secret until the last moment!

Firing Line Friday: The Security of Europe

     In the hopes of encouraging a more civil, and illuminating, discourse, here is another episode of William F. Buckley, Jr.’s “Firing Line”.

     Fifty years ago NATO and Western Europe faced an aggressive Evil Empire. Today, Russia is once again aggressively expanding its borders and it’s proxy empire. Let   us look back when William F. Buckley, Jr. discussed the question of the security of Europe with Sir Alec Douglas-Home.

Why Do Companies Go Woke?

     For the vast majority of people, it seemed that wokeness came out of nowhere and spontaneously became dominant (while some of us have been ignored in our warnings like a bunch of Cassandras). But how did wokeness so rapidly go from alien to businesses to becoming said businesses raison d’être? This paper examines and attempts to answer this question.

White People Need Not Apply

     College and universities have for decades now discriminated again White people, if not ourright barring them from programs and assistance on the basis of race.   The increasing “DEI” madness has metathesized this woke cancer, and is more the result of this long standing discrimination that a cause.

     Take, for example, the Leslie N. Wilson-Delores Auzenne Assistantship which grants the recipient a waiver for their tuition plus a cool five grand in cash… provided you aren’t White (or Middle Eastern/North African). At least someone is standing up to this act of blatant racial exclusion and filing a federal civil rights complaint.

Firing Line Friday: What Now for the Ghetto?

     In the hopes of encouraging a more civil, and illuminating, discourse, here is another episode of William F. Buckley, Jr.’s “Firing Line”.

     It seems that inner cities are returning to crime, homelessness, and political insanity.   Let us look back half a century the last time cities turned into hellholes as William F. Buckley, Jr. talks with then Tom Bradley, who was elected Mayor of Los Angeles, as they discuss the question of what now for the ghetto?

Quick Takes – The Death Agenda Of Euthanasia: Scheduling Death; Advertising Death; Partial Victory Against Death

     Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

     The focus this time: Some fight for death; others fight against it.

     First, a little mood music:

     Carrying on…

Death, Rx

     The only efficient part of the Canadian healthcare system is the part that kills you.

“When we think of assisted suicide or euthanasia, we imagine a limited number of elderly people with late-stage cancer or advanced ALS in severe pain. The argument for helping them die is clear: Death is imminent. Why should they be forced to suffer?

“In 2015, Canada’s Supreme Court ruled that assisted suicide was constitutional. In June 2016, Parliament passed Bill C-14, otherwise known as the Medical Assistance in Dying Act. MAiD was now the law of the land. Anyone who could show that their death was “reasonably foreseeable” was eligible. In this respect, Canada was hardly alone: The Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand, among others, allow assisted suicide. So do ten states in the U.S.

“In 2017, the first full year in which MAiD, which is administered by provincial governments, was in operation, 2,838 people opted for assisted suicide, according to a government report. By 2021, that figure had jumped to 10,064—accounting for more than 3 percent of all deaths in Canada that year.

“There have been a total of 31,664 MAiD deaths and the large majority of those people were 65 to 80 when they died. In 2017, only 34 MAiD deaths were in the 18- to 45-year-old category. In 2018, that figure rose to at least 49. In 2019, it was 103; in 2020,118; and in 2021, 139.

“Today, thousands of people who could live for many years are applying—successfully—to kill themselves.”
