Wokeness Sneaks In Sub Rosa

More and more people are noticing that the latest woke craze didn’t just suddenly sprout out of the ground ex nihilo, but were carefully planted as seeds long before.

Some people have been warning about this for decades. I though, over ten years ago, that “transgenderism” had already taken root, even though not yet sprouted, much in the same way same sex marriage was way back in the ’90s.

     Real question is “what’s next”?

To answer that question just look to academia—not so much the current indoctrination of undergrads—but the graduate, post-graduate, and professorial musings from fields such as those that include the word “studies” in the title. Not everything there will make it out, but any sign of what you see there moving outside those narrow academic confines or being validated by people outside it, must be uprooted before it has a chance to take too firm a hold.

What the Left does is change what is perceived as “normal”, not through direct assault, but by undermining the reasons & mores and replacing them with reasons & mores that are most consistent with the “new normal”.   They hollow out all the underlying mores, values, and beliefs while leaving the “old normal” as an empty shell… until they rebuild something new.  People don’t notice because they were distracted or simply not pay proper attention to all the warning signs.

That way, when they do act overtly, people accept the “new normal” because it is more consistent with the new mores, values, and beliefs that had been snuck in sub rosa—and anyone who wants the “old normal” will be seen as the crazy ones.

Firing Line Friday: The Selling of the President 1968

In the hopes of encouraging a more civil, and illuminating, discourse, here is another episode of William F. Buckley, Jr.’s “Firing Line”.

Elections and politics have always been an exercise in selling wise ideas at best, and carnival barking at worst. This was also the case over half-a-century ago, as explored by William F. Buckley, Jr. and guest Joe McGinnis who explored the selling of the president back in 1968.

Quick Takes – Euthanasia in Canada: Killing The Disabled; Death To Veterans; Death To The Deaf

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

focus this time: So Sayeth Justin Trudeau: KILL THEM KILL THEM ALL.

     First, a little mood music:

     Carrying on…

Do you know how you run a socialized health system that doesn’t drain a country’s entire treasury? Easy!   Just kill all the people who might need long term medical help!

“The horror stories from Canada about pressure for “assisted suicide” choices on the disabled and those with profoundly-chronic illness rarely make news in American media outlets. That makes this report from the Associated Press eye-popping indeed. Disability advocates in Canada have leveled accusations that Canada’s nationalized health-care system has used the legalized assisted-suicide system as a vehicle for euthanasia and cost savings”

<     !--more-->Are you a soldier suffering from PTSD? Congratulations if you are Canadian, because now you can be euthanized for free!!1!

“A Canadian armed forces veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and a traumatic brain injury was offered medical assistance in dying by an employee of Veterans Affairs Canada.

“The VAC released a statement last week admitting to an incident ‘where medical assistance in dying was discussed inappropriately’ with the veteran. The department pledged that ‘appropriate administrative action will be taken’ after the veteran expressed outrage at the suggestion, according to a report in Global News.

“According to the report, the veteran called VAC seeking support for PTSD when the employee brought up medical assistance in dying, or euthanasia, unprompted. The veteran was reportedly shocked by the suggestion. His family told Global News that the soldier had been making positive progress in his physical and mental rehabilitation and that he felt betrayed by an agency that is tasked with assisting veterans.”

Can you hear me now? If not, Canada wants you do die!

“Alan Nichols had a history of depression and other medical issues, but none were life-threatening. When the 61-year-old Canadian was hospitalized in June 2019 over fears he might be suicidal, he asked his brother to “bust him out” as soon as possible.

“Within a month, Nichols submitted a request to be euthanized and he was killed, despite concerns raised by his family and a nurse practitioner.

“His application for euthanasia listed only one health condition as the reason for his request to die: hearing loss.”

Don’t Say Woke

The magical thinking of the Left includes the magical power of the spoken and written word.   Call a man a woman, and if everyone says it and believes it, then it becomes true. But the opposite is also believed: If you deny something a word to describe it, then it ceases to exist, objective reality be damned. This is why the Left are so hell bent on denying the existence of “critical race theory”, “cultural Marxism”, an even the word “woke”. What these words describe exists, even if people don’t have a firm definition, for things that exist and affect people will practically command a word come about to describe them.

Hence, why you are not supposed to say “woke”.

Miracle Of The Individual

Tribalism and “us vs. them” sentiment of the nationalist global ideology seems resurgent these days, but let us not forget the miracle that elevated an individual as more than a tool of the elitists.

There isn’t some false dilemma fallacy of “collective submission” vs. “anarchic libertarian greed”. It is a triumph of the common over subjugation of the many.

Children’s Hospital Promotes Intersectional Gender Ideology And BDSM Sex Toys For Minors

Lurie Children’s Hospital has joined in with the transgender craze. Unsurprisingly these days, they invoke intersectionality—that is, the Kyriarchy—by declaring that White people invented the “gender binary” as a tool of systemic oppression. And their way of fighting this “oppressive system” is through “gender affirming gear” and… bondage gear like bed restraints, kink kits, and harnesses.

     And then comes the “intersectionality”.

The full report can be read here.

Oh, they also tried to cover their tracks when they were uncovered by Christopher Rufo.   The internet, though, is forever.

Twenty-One Years Ago Today – NEVER FORGET

Twenty-one years ago today, America was attacked. Instead of focusing in on America leaving Afghanistan, let us focus in on why we went there to begin with.  Never forget the victims who died, and those who fought back.

Firing Line Friday: The Young

In the hopes of encouraging a more civil, and illuminating, discourse, here is another episode of William F. Buckley, Jr.’s “Firing Line”.

Older generations have always complained about “The Young” and fret over what has become of younger generations. What better man to address this than the author of A Clockwork Orange, Anthony Burgess, who discussed this question with William F. Buckley, Jr. and other guests Diana Armenakis, Richard, Tilton, and Ahmed Bulbulia.

     Until next Friday.
