Firing Line Friday: How Does It Go with the Black Movement?

     Racial animus has long been a topic of debate. A discussion with Huey P. Newton, along with Patricia Holland, Gary Mounce, and Lanny Skinkin demonstrates that what is old is young and what is young it old.

Quick Takes – When All Lives Don’t Matter: Non-Woke Dean’s Lives Don’t Matter; Hate-filled Cambridge Professor’s Life Does Matter; White Lives Don’t Matter

     Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

     The focus this time: All lives matter… except for THEM!

     First, a little mood music:

     One might think that believing that we are all equal and that all our lives matter would be woke.   But then one would be 180° wrong!

“University of Massachusetts-Lowell Dean of Nursing Leslie Neal-Boylan issued an email on June 2 to the Solomont School of Nursing in light of the recent anti-racism demonstrations across the country, sources told Campus Reform. In the message, Neal-Boylan told students that ‘everyone’s life matters.’ Days later, Neal-Boylan was out of a job.

“The sources shared with Campus Reform the email over which Neal-Boylan was allegedly fired.

“‘I am writing to express my concern and condemnation of the recent (and past) acts of violence against people of color,’ Neal-Boylan wrote in the email. ‘Recent events recall a tragic history of racism and bias that continue to thrive in this country. I despair for our future as a nation if we do not stand up against violence against anyone,’ she added.

“‘Dear SSON Community,’ the email provided to Campus Reform begins. ‘I am writing to express my concern and condemnation of the recent (and past) acts of violence against people of color. Recent events recall a tragic history of racism and bias that continue to thrive in this country. I despair for our future as a nation if we do not stand up against violence against anyone. BLACK LIVES MATTER, but also, EVERYONE’S LIFE MATTERS.’

“‘No one should have to live in fear that they will be targeted for how they look or what they believe,’ the provided email continues.

“This sparked controversy among many who received her email. The letter was posted to Twitter by a student who expressed disappointment in the Dean’s ‘everyone’s life matters’ statement.”

When Everything Is Racist All Anti-Racism Is Arbitrary And Capricious

     The usual rejoinder to “when everything is ______” is usually “than nothing is”. However in reality, the actual response is far more insidious. In reality, when everything is racist, just as when everything is a crime, actual enforcement based on what is convenient at the time, and who is chosen as the villain du jour is based on whoever just happens to seem useful at the time. This is, of course, antithetical to the idea of equal treatment under the law, but when everyone is a criminal, enforcement will always be discriminatory.

     Nothing is innocuous or innocent. It is all a question of if you bring the attention of those with actual institutional privilege and actual institutional power to yo or not. Beria’s quip about if you find him the person he will find you the crime is quite salient and frighteningly true. A simple accusation does not need to establish guilt, as guilt is assumed regardless of accusation… only prosecution of guilt is the open question of “who’s next?”.

     One of the recent examples of presumed acts of racism to be prosecuted in the realm of wokeness is the phrase “Work hard. Be Nice”.

“Yes, working hard and being nice is now a hallmark of White Supremacy.

“On Wednesday the charter school organization The Knowledge is Power Program, commonly know as KIPP, announced that it will be retiring the slogan ‘Work hard. Be Nice.’ as school officials believe the phrase is counterproductive to abolishing systemic racism.

“Richard Barth, KIPP Foundation CEO, said in a press release that after a letter from KIPP Co-Founder Dave Levin about the ways in which the organization can change its culture, he decided to axe the slogan as it ‘diminishes the significant effort required to dismantle systemic racism.’

“‘Over the last few weeks, we have all been working hard to turn words into action, recognizing that there is still much more work to be done to eliminate any practice at KIPP that furthers systemic racism, anti-Blackness, and inequities experienced by our students, alumni, families, teachers, and staff,’ said Barth.”

Mandatory Wokeness In Academia

     Ah Academia, what was once (and in many ways still is) the repository of civilization and society’s achievements is increasingly the faunt of poison that is slowly killing America (and Western Civilization, more broadly).

     We have already seen how college after college have required all faculty and staff to adhere to “diversity” statements which are little more than pledges of obedience to institutional racial discrimination.

     The University of Colorado at Boulder has gone further and declared that the unwoke are not worthy of a university education, and have gone so far as to declare that support for the sentiments of #BlackLivesMatter are “a bottom line, non-negotiable condition of enrollment and employment”.

“We strongly support the many messages of solidarity that members of the CU Boulder community have shared in recent days, from the chancellor, vice chancellors, deans, department chairs and directors to CU Student Government, United Government of Graduate Students, and other student groups. At their core, many have expressed the following:

“‘Black Lives Matter, and as a campus we condemn all acts of racist violence and discriminatory behavior––regardless of who commits them.’

“We may be confronting the unparalleled challenges of a global pandemic, but we can’t let that work distract us from making real changes to our campus culture to combat systemic racism and bias-motivated behavior. These changes must be seen in how we recruit students, faculty, staff and administrators––in how we signal to them the need to embrace our community values as a bottom line, non-negotiable condition of enrollment and employment.

“As part of the CU community, we must set expectations for living these values as a core set of guidelines for what it means to be anti-racist in all that we do at the university.”

     Thought criminals will no longer be welcome as this university. But does anyone really think that this won’t spread to more and more universities and colleges in America?

George Floyd As The Queen Of Diamonds

     One of the gravest errors of much of the conservative movement was to see a disconnect between the Gramscian marched institutions and the “normalcy” of society, at least as they experienced it. With that came the foolish idea that “it couldn’t happen here” because superficially people all seemed to agree with “normalcy” and the assumption that   nothing could undermine that “common sense” normalcy such that all one had to do was stand up and “fight” against an allegedly weak opponent who was thought to have not been able to take down the sheer power of “normalcy”.

     People who deluded themselves into thinking that if the Leftist transformation ever became manifest, that is would be led by “Berkeley Bolsheviks”, chaotic mobs, and “soy boys” who would be easily defeated by the magically self organizing “real Americans” with widespread and unequivocal support (and without foreign intervention to boot) has been shown to be a fantastical pipe dream.

     The framework and pillars that led to America were undermined while the thinning veneer of “normalcy” camouflaged the fundamental transformation of America which has already occurred. The reason that the “what have conservatives ever conserved” crowd whines about “preemptive surrender” and flail around thinking that if we only fought we’d win is because they haven’t noticed that, aside from the occasional instance of the Left jumping the gun, they Left do not openly move unless they’ve already won; they are Fabians who prepare and when they move, they simply toss aside that veneer of “normalcy” and present a “new normal” that fits perfectly upon the new cultural framework, upon which the old “normal” can no longer be fit or even placed upon.

     This is why is should come as no surprise that the death of George Floyd was not so much a fuse that set off a chain of explosions, but a trigger to uncover what was already there, much like a Manchurian Candidate being shown the Queen of Diamonds: America is the Manchurian Candidate; George Floyd is the Queen of Diamonds.

“The Left does not work overtly. They do not fight openly or honestly. Through the Gramscian March, they’ve taken over institutions of power. Working with fellow-goers to slowly and fundamentally trans form the basis upon which America, and more broadly Western Civilization. Rather than directly change the outcome, what we experience and are familiar with, they change the basis of our assumptions such that what for some may seem like a crazy and radical change, is accepted because it is framed in such a way as to conform with the new cultural assumptions people have been fed slowly and incrementally over decades.

“In a way, people have become Manchurian Candidates. They seem like they would be in opposition to the craziness and new Progressive fundamentally transformed values, and will even often say they oppose the Left’s stances. However, once the change in fundamental values has percolated enough through society, the Left provided the right trigger, a ‘queen of diamonds’ of some sort, and suddenly people fall in line with the new approved correct stances.”

When The Revolution Comes?

     There are some people who seem to be curious contradictions. They are absolutely histrionic over America being lost an the eternal doom that would bring, yet somehow chalk this up to either some identified conspiracy or simply an example of perpetual surrender, while concomitantly believing that all it takes to defeat this unitary evil if for people so stand up in a manly way and by sheer lack of soy-products cause an instant victory for their side.

     The are both histrionic and Pollyannas: They are the Histrionic Pollyannas (who are taken advantage of by the snake-oil salesmen.

     To a large degree this is an underestimation of the Left, who have not only take over the levers of power, human capital, and financial capital, but have despite the stereotypes a plethora of people who can and will do all the “blue-collar” jobs that the Histrionic Pollyannas don’t believe they can do because their only exposure to these elements of the right are social media posts about the idiotic and disposable “vanguard” of “soyboy beta cucks”. ‘Tis also an ignoring of the unsurprising (well, unsurprising if you actually pay attention) fact that those of the Left stereotype the “Right” as a bunch of old and scooter-restricted (and diabetic, and fat, and …) fossils who will soon be gone and unable to stop the wokeness.

     One of these Histrionic Pollyanna fantasies is that if social order breaks down, the “others” of the Left will fall apart into anarchy, and that somehow the “alt-woke” right will be able to coordinate without interference as the “urban” centers self-destruct while the allegedly prepared can without too much psychological pressure not only organize and coordinate, but also feed, arm, and otherwise provide themselves with the most vain and superficial of luxuries that the shutdowns due to Corona-chan have shown that the lack thereof will cause the sunshine warriors to have mental breakdowns due to lack of a haircut or having to wear a mask.

     From this fantasy, the most optimistic delusion is that the masses will rise up and without need of any goods or ammo that might be disrupted from such an insurrection somehow be able (without foreign intervention) cause all the powers to be to be killed or surrendered. However, another such delusion from this is that as noted above: Brave manly-men and women organizing and winning with military tactics against almost tribal and uncivilized people. This is just wish-casting and a desire for a LARP they do not grok.

     So, how would a clever strategy of laying in ambush to defeat the aggressive mob and negate threats work in real life?

     It’s work very well… for those mobs who can, will, and have targeted the pseudo-military delusions of the Histrionic Pollyannas.

“The chief of the Tampa Police Department says his officers were “ambushed” early Saturday morning.

“TPD Chief Brian Dugan says officers were called to the intersection of 15th Street N and 26th Avenue E for a report of shots fired with a possible victim.

“He says when officers arrived, hundreds of people had all four intersections completely blocked, and as they attempted to locate a victim, the crowd became aggressive.

“As officers took one person into custody, the crowd surrounded officers and threw glass bottles, while several subjects jumped on one of the officer’s cars.

“‘There were hundreds of them. Hundreds. We ended up having to call every single police officer that was available that night to respond there, from New Tampa to South Tampa,’ Dugan said.”

     But that’s just thrown bottles… a fool might say.

     But the tactic works. If s**t really happens, bottles will be the least worst of one’s worries. And this assumes that the police will be allowed intervene further (As CHAZ/CHOD has demonstrated the limitations thereof) or that higher loyalties haven’t been swayed.
