\nThe IRS is defending its decision to let illegal immigrants claim up to three years\u2019 refunds on income even if they never paid income taxes, telling Congress in a new letter last week that agency lawyers have concluded getting a Social Security number triggers the ability to go back and ask for previous refunds.<\/p>\n
\nAn IRS employee tasked with trying to restore and obtain emails on Lois Lerner\u2019s IRS computer\u2019s hard drive was legally blind. Stephen Manning, the deputy chief information officer for strategy and modernization at the IRS, submitted an affidavit in the True the Vote vs. IRS litigation regarding the persons and procedures used to attempt to recover Lois Lerner\u2019s hard drive containing emails pertaining to Tea Party targeting.<\/p>\n
\nUnless you are one of Obama\u2019s bootlickers in the Senate, you probably are under the impression that Obama\u2019s executive amnesty is a bad idea even if, like me, you are somewhat squishy on the issue of immigration itself. But however bad you thought it was that Obama is seeking to unilaterally rewriting a law that is constitutionally within the exclusive purview of Congress, you will think this is much worse: the IRS has decided to allow illegal immigrants who receive social security numbers under the executive amnesty to get checks from the IRS for the earned income tax credit (EITC) for the last three years EVEN IF THEY DIDN\u2019T FILE OR PAY TAXES FOR THOSE YEARS.<\/p>\n

\nSen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Tuesday offered the latest in a series of Republican ObamaCare alternatives ahead of a Supreme Court ruling that could gut the law. <\/p>\n
\nMost observers of the legal battle over Obamacare\u2019s subsidies are now familiar with the two clips (one video and one audio) in which economist Jonathan Gruber takes the plaintiff\u2019s side, saying only states which set up an exchange will receive subsidies. But a third example of Gruber saying much the same thing has, so far, received very little attention.<\/p>\n
\nToday, for the second time since 2012, the fate of Obamacare lies in the hands of the Supreme Court, and like last time, it will likely be all about Justice John Roberts ‘ decision. Later today, the US Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in the case of King v. Burwell, the latest challenge to Obamacare, and one that could potentially leave it gutted from an unexpected direction.
