{"id":6937,"date":"2014-10-21T00:12:01","date_gmt":"2014-10-21T07:12:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/politicalhat.com\/?p=6937"},"modified":"2014-10-21T00:12:01","modified_gmt":"2014-10-21T07:12:01","slug":"queering-the-inquisition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2014\/10\/21\/queering-the-inquisition\/","title":{"rendered":"Queering the Inquisition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It has firmly been established that the Progressive Left have used laws against discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation\/preference as an excuse to violate the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Amendment rights of others.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">They have forced florists, photographers, and bakers to help <a title=\"Kangaroo Court Sentences Thought Criminal To Force \u201cCorrect Thinking\u201d on Others\" href=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2014\/06\/20\/kangaroo-court-sentences-thought-criminal-to-force-correct-thinking-on-others\/\" target=\"_blank\">celebrate same-sex wedding events<\/a> they morally oppose.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">They have used the courts to <a title=\"Thought Crime: The Reality is Now\" href=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2014\/08\/29\/thought-crime-the-reality-is-now\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;correct&#8221; the thinking<\/a> of those who morally oppose same-sex weddings.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">They have punished businesses for not helping to <a title=\"Queering the Cake\" href=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2014\/07\/23\/queering-the-cake\/\" target=\"_blank\">push pro-same-sex marriage political beliefs<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">They have declared that businesses must <a title=\"Queering The Shirt\" href=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2014\/10\/15\/queering-the-shirt\/\" target=\"_blank\">publish propaganda<\/a> supporting same-sex marriage.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">They have even barred anyone who disagrees with same-sex marriage from being <a title=\"The Bias of \u201cAnti-Bias\u201d Laws\" href=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2013\/09\/10\/the-bias-of-anti-bias-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\">hired or contracted<\/a> by the government\u2026 or of even <a title=\"California to Ban Anyone Affiliated with the Boy Scouts from Some Elected Offices\" href=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2014\/04\/29\/california-to-ban-anyone-affiliated-with-the-boy-scouts-from-some-elected-offices\/\" target=\"_blank\">being elected to public office<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Now, they are <a href=\"http:\/\/pjmedia.com\/tatler\/2014\/10\/14\/houston-mayor-subpoenas-pastors-over-sermons-for-opposing-anti-discrimination-ordinance\/\" target=\"_blank\">going after pastors<\/a> who dare say in church that men are not men, nor men women, and that boys shouldn&#8217;t be able to use girls restrooms and <em>visa versa<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The city of Houston has issued subpoenas demanding a group of pastors turn over any sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity or Annise Parker, the city\u2019s first openly lesbian mayor. And those ministers who fail to comply could be held in contempt of court.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;An attorney fighting the subpoenas <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adfmedia.org\/News\/PRDetail\/9349#\" target=\"_blank\">stated<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The city council and its attorneys are engaging in an inquisition designed to stifle any critique of its actions&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6952\" title=\"queer inquisition\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/queer-inquisition.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"393\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/queer-inquisition.jpg 550w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/queer-inquisition-300x214.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Yes, we indeed to have a modern day inquisition.\u00a0 But it is not some Monty Python sketch, but a real life attempt to silence and intimidate those who refuse to profess the faith of &#8220;tolerance.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ironic, then, that the sermons are <a href=\"http:\/\/pjmedia.com\/tatler\/2014\/10\/15\/why-is-houston-mayor-annise-parker-subpoenaing-pastors-for-sermons-that-are-already-publicly-available\/\" target=\"_blank\">already publicly available<\/a>.\u00a0 It just makes it clear that the purpose of the subpoenas is nothing more than <a href=\"http:\/\/legalinsurrection.com\/2014\/10\/houston-mayor-uses-lawfare-against-local-churches\/\" target=\"_blank\">harassment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Allegedly, this is due to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/390403\/city-houston-attacks-pastors-then-doubles-down-david-french\" target=\"_blank\">voter lawsuit<\/a> filed against the city of Houston for rejecting voter petitions to repeal a law that would allow men into women&#8217;s restrooms and women into men&#8217;s restrooms.\u00a0 The subpoenas were supposed to go after churches that might have talked about &#8220;equal rights, civil rights, homosexuality, or gender identity, \u2026 [and] restroom access.&#8221;\u00a0 The subpoenas, though were <a href=\"Http:\/\/www.adfmedia.org\/files\/WoodfillQuashBrief.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">filed against pastors<\/a> who <em>were not even part of the lawsuit<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Thankfully, this time at least, Houston is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.woai.com\/onair\/the-joe-pags-show-10\/houston-backtracks-on-church-subpoenas-12867545\/\" target=\"_blank\">backtracking<\/a> a bit and blamed the filing attorneys for the naughtiness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>This time<\/strong>, the backlash was strong enough to get them to step back.\u00a0 Soon, though, this may no longer be the case.<\/p>\n<p><meta name=\"twitter:card\" content=\"summary_large_image\"><meta name=\"twitter:site\" content=\"@PoliticHatblog\"><meta name=\"twitter:creator\" content=\"@ThePoliticalhat\"><meta name=\"twitter:title\" content=\"Queering the Inquisition\"><meta name=\"twitter:description\" content=\"Now, the Progressive Left are going after pastors who dare say in church that men are not men, nor men women, and that boys shouldn't be able to use girls restrooms and visa versa\"><meta name=\"twitter:image:src\" content=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/queer-inquisition.jpg\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It has firmly been established that the Progressive Left have used laws against discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation\/preference as an excuse to violate the 1st Amendment rights of others.
