For those who are old enough, the PMRC (Parents Musical Resource Center) was the ultimate example of censorship and the reign of the thought police.\u00a0 The reason?\u00a0 The small content warning sticker was thought to be just the beginning of something far more sinister.\u00a0 Now-a-days, though, censorship of is all the new hotness<\/a> among the yutes!<\/p>\n “So, Millennials, I have to ask: What the hell happened to you people? We didn\u2019t want warning labels when we were kids, and you\u2019re demanding them as adults?<\/p>\n “You\u2019re out campaigning to have warning labels put not on Slayer albums but on Finnegan\u2019s Wake and A Prayer for Owen Meany, because you\u2019re afraid that after a lifetime of wearing pedestrian helmets your soft little butts are going to get kicked by a poem? I know, you grew up with drinking water full of estrogen and trips to self-esteem camp, but, for Pete\u2019s sake. I can\u2019t imagine what it is like to be one of you people, but I assume that spending New Year\u2019s Eve on Times Square would capture exactly one-half of the experience.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n It wasn’t the goals of the PMRC that the so-called free speech advocates opposed, just who the targets were…<\/p>\n South Carolina has given “Social Justice Warriors” the vapors<\/a> by cutting funding for the “Center for Women’s and Gender Studies” which ran classes about how to turn a woman lesbian in 10 days\u2026 and:<\/p>\n “allotting the discussed funds toward teaching the provisions and principles of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Federalist Papers, as well as \u201cthe study of and devotion to American institutions and ideals.<\/p>\n “The move puts South Carolina colleges back in compliance with a 90-year-old state law which requires colleges to teach students a year\u2019s worth of courses on the nation\u2019s founding documents.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n To those who are whining about how this violates the autonomy of a government<\/em> college, it must be asked: Is forcing draconian Title IX requirements and other such Federal mandates also totes uncool, or does academic “freedom” only apply to the Politically Correct?<\/p>\n Nixon had articles of impeachment drawn against him for the shenanigans of the IRS against political opponents.\u00a0 He was also accused of erasing potentially incriminating evidence against him with the infamous “18 minutes” of erased tape.<\/p>\n Obama seems to try to trump<\/a> that.\u00a0 Not only has the IRS targeted political opponents, but potentially incriminating e-mails seem to have conveniently<\/em> been lost:<\/p>\n “The IRS recently informed Ways and Means chairman Dave Camp and subcommittee chairman Charles Boustany that computer crashes resulted in additional lost e-mails, including from Nikole Flax, the chief of staff to former IRS commissioner Steven Miller, who was fired in the wake of the targeting scandal.<\/p>\n “\u2026<\/p>\n “E-mails uncovered by the committee last week showed that, in preparation for her meeting with the Department of Justice, Lerner and one of her advisers transmitted 1.1 million pages of data on nonprofit groups, including confidential taxpayer information, to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, potentially in violation of federal law.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Of course, Nixon was a Republican (a big-government squish, but at least anti-Communist to some degree), which is why the news media attacked him.\u00a0 Obama, in contrast, has the lapdog news media to protect him from that silly rule of law…<\/p>\n TTFN<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Another \u201cquick takes\u201d on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.
