The question is how much &#8212; and where? Last week I wrote a blog post comparing President Obama&#8217;s Gallup job approval numbers for calendar year 2013 in all 50 states and the District of Columbia with Obama&#8217;s 2012 percentage of the popular vote there (which tracked closely his November 2012 job approval). I found the biggest declines in almost all the 2012 target states, most of which have 2014 Senate races which at the beginning of the cycle did not appear to be competitive but which appear so now in recent polling.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/republican-wins-san-diego-mayor-special-election-083013961--politics.html?.tsrc=rogers\" target=\"_blank\">Republican wins San Diego mayor special election<\/a><br \/>\nA moderate Republican city councilman has been elected mayor of San Diego in a special election to fill the unexpired term of Bob Filner, who resigned amid a torrent of sexual harassment allegations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.conservativeintel.com\/2014\/02\/12\/aksen-begich-allies-spending-already-against-sullivan\/#\" target=\"_blank\">#AKSen: Begich allies spending already against Sullivan <\/a><br \/>\nGiven his prolific fundraising (along with beneficial name-confusion with the popular Republican mayor of Anchorage), it\u2019s not a stretch to suppose that of the Republicans in the primary election for Senate, it\u2019s Alaska\u2019s former Natural Resources Commissioner, Dan Sullivan, who keeps Sen.
