No, not in rock music, but in geology or something\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cA recent study purports to prove that geology can contribute to the \u2018healing process\u2019 from racism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cUniversity of San Diego professors Diane Marie Keeling and Bethany O\u2019Shea published a study titled \u2018Conceptualizing Black Humanity Through Geopoetic Intimacy and Resistance: Memory Making-with Geologic Materials\u2019 on Jan. 27.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2018Materials of geologic composition like soil, and those made from earth materials, such as steel and bricks, are employed to trope the bodies of lynching victims and weather racist geologic formations of subjecthood,\u2019 the study abstract reads. \u2018The holding and eroding of violent memories crafts an intimate and resistant geopoetics of Black humanity.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cKeeling and O\u2019Shea, professors of Communication and Environmental and Ocean Sciences respectively, spoke about their study in an interview with the University of San Diego News Center that was published on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThey explained that their research examined racism in U.S. history and focused on \u2018how people can use rocks to heal from this horrible history.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe authors traveled to Birmingham, Alabama to see soil that was gathered from different states that saw lynching attacks throughout American history. They went to \u2018view the soil collection and learned many other ways that geology was strategically used in the memorialization of lynching victims.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Nothing is more feared by beneficiaries of \u201cWhite Privilege\u201d than\u2026 a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article\/uc-irvine-hosting-musical-performative-lecture-white-privilege-\/27349\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">musical number<\/a> that \u201cpwns\u201d them!<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe University of California, Irvine is hosting a \u2018White Privilege\u2019 musical performance and lecture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe event will run from Friday to Saturday, and will feature a \u201cperformative lecture by Thomas DeFrantz with live sound design and electronic music by Quran Karriem.\u201d The musical performance, titled \u2018White Privilege,\u2019 \u2018engages white privilege as a discourse, casting the performative space as an opportunity to enlarge care and do better.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe \u2018performative lecture,\u2019 which takes place Saturday, will be preceded on Friday by a panel discussion about the \u2018creative heritage of the work and its importance to the ongoing conversation about equity within institutions.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;If science doesn\u2019t align with \u201cQueer Theory\u201d\u2026 then just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecollegefix.com\/yale-course-asks-can-science-be-made-queer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">make science queer<\/a>!<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cA class offered by Yale University this semester will ask students to consider \u2018whether science can be made queer.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe course description asks, \u2018Can facial recognition technology really tell if you\u2019re queer? Why is everyone so obsessed with gay penguins?
