     The proponents of legalized abortion style themselves as \u201cpro-choice\u201d and that the choice of a woman or girl to have an abortion is sacrosanct and must be protected. Of course, that \u201cchoice\u201d seems to only be protected in one direction, particularly in Nevada. Even before the overturning of Roe <\/em>v. Wade<\/em>, Nevada\u2019s laws protected the right to an abortion such that the legislature was restricted from overturning that. But that protection wasn\u2019t enough.<\/p>\n

     This past Fall, a measure to enshrine the most extreme procedures with full dearth of limits was passed by the voters, and will become part of the state\u2019s Constitution when passed again, as seems likely, in the Fall of next year. But even that isn\u2019t enough for some. A bill, AB 101<\/a>, has been introduced to the Nevada Assembly the belies the use of \u201cchoice\u201d by attacking pregnancy centers that do not perform or refer people for abortions by labelling them \u201cdeceptive\u201d in that \u201chealth care\u201d and \u201cpregnancy\u201d is presumed to be one and the same. It reads, in part:<\/p>\n

  1. A health care facility shall not make or disseminate, or cause to be made or disseminated, to the public in any newspaper or \u00a0 other publication, in \u00a0 any advertising device, over the Internet or \u00a0 in any other manner a \u00a0 statement that the health care facility knows or should know is deceptive concerning any service that is or is not offered by the health care facility.<\/li>\n<\/blockquote>\n

  2. For the purposes of subsection 1, a statement is deceptive if the \u00a0 statement includes, without \u00a0 limitation, assertions to \u00a0 mislead persons to believe \u00a0 that the health \u00a0 care facility provides \u00a0 a health care service that the facility does not actually provide.<\/li>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/ol>\n

         The bill would empower the Attorney General, currently a Democrat planning to run for Governor in 2026 the power to punish a pro-life pregnancy center because they don\u2019t offer \u201cpregnancy\u201d \u201chealthcare\u201d in the form of abortion services.<\/p>\n

         Even worse, it regulates (and restricts) the use of medication to specifically to stop or reverse the initial stages of an abortion, but not cause one.<\/p>\n

    Upon determining that prescribing, dispensing or administering a medication \u00a0 to stop or \u00a0 reverse an abortion \u00a0 meets generally accepted standards of the practice of medicine, \u00a0 the Board may, in \u00a0 consultation with the \u00a0 State Board of \u00a0 Osteopathic Medicine, State Board \u00a0 of Nursing and \u00a0 State Board of \u00a0 Pharmacy, adopt regulations authorizing a physician or physician assistant to prescribe, dispense or administer medication to stop or reverse an abortion. Any such regulations must specify:<\/p>\n

    (a) Each \u00a0 medication that a \u00a0 physician or physician \u00a0 assistant may prescribe, dispense or administer to stop or reverse an abortion; and<\/p>\n

    (b) The required procedures for prescribing, dispensing or administering a medication specified pursuant to paragraph (a) to stop or reverse an abortion.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

         It\u2019s only a \u201cchoice\u201d if you choose what they want you to choose.<\/p>\n
