target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">equally is discrimination<\/a> at Columbia University.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cColumbia University in New York City recently updated its anti-discrimination policy in which the school now says that race-neutral policies that have a \u2018disproportionate impact\u2019 constitute discrimination.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe policy, which was updated on Sept. 23, states that \u2018having a neutral policy or practice that has a disproportionate and unjustified adverse impact on actual and\/or perceived members or associates of one Protected Class more than others, constitutes Discrimination.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Maybe people wouldn\u2019t disbelieve the National Institute for Health if it kept to health related subject and not \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article\/cuny-gets-19-million-taxpayer-funded-nih-health-equity-center\/26766\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">equity and social justice<\/a>\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe City University of New York announced on Oct. 29 that its School of Medicine received $19.3 million from the NIH to create The New York Center for Minority Health, Equity and Social Justice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe center aims to focus on racial and ethnic health disparities and increase the number of minorities participating in biomedical research, joining the National Institute of Minority Health and Disparities and its Research Centers in Minority Institutions network to \u201cfostering a diverse pool of researchers, and addressing the critical health needs of our community,\u201d according to a CUNY press release.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIn addition to the NIH funding that CUNY received, the NIH also has a Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation (FIRST) grant that awards \u2018more than $64 million over five years\u2019 to \u2018build self-reinforcing communities of scientists committed to diversity and inclusive excellence,\u2019 according to the NIH.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article\/vermont-state-university-hosts-building-anti-racist-white-educators-workshop-deal-so-called-unconscious-biases\/27244\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">discrimination is good in response<\/a> in Vermont\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe event description seems to accuse white teachers of being inherently guilty of certain faults and biases despite their good intentions: \u2018White teachers, even those with experience and compassion, can unconsciously cause pain to students of color in their classrooms.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2018Through consistent study and reflection, these unconscious biases can be slowly addressed and educators can make changes to better support the academic, social and emotional well-being of students of color,\u2019 it continues.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2018We hope that through regular reflection and conversation, you can get better at recognizing and resisting your biases and the impact they have on your students and colleagues of color,\u2019 the event description
