<\/p>\n\u201cOwning the Libs\u201d, particularly online, has become the primary weapon of political warfare, particularly with the chronically online. What was once high meme culture and sophisticated in its own faux-juvenile way has devolved into sick burns where political success is measured by how many people one has been able to \u201ctrigger\u201d.<\/p>\n

Yet for all the memelording, far too many, particularly amongst Trump fans, are just as sensitive as the libs they try to \u201cpwn\u201d, and just as easily triggered when prodded successfully.<\/p>\n
The obsession with crowd size is one such trigger now. Once, the pro-Trump cheerleaders would point to the large crowds that Trump could bring in as \u201cevidence\u201d for broad support and \u201cproof\u201d that he couldn\u2019t have lost the 2020 election. The mocking of Biden and the Dems was palpable. Now, Kamala Harris is brining in huge crowds, and the once boastful pro-Trump boosters, if not Trump himself, are getting \u201ctriggered\u201d by this and underscoring how much crowd size was a coping mechanism.<\/p>\n
Similarly, the attacks on J. D. Vance as being \u201cweird\u201d are causing angry replies<\/a>. It\u2019s not that this or the crowd size thing swings any moderate median voters, but that it \u201ctriggers<\/a>\u201d all the right people into having online apoplectic fits. And after all, we are<\/em> living in the political age of \u201cLeeroy Jenkins<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n But these can all be sidestepped by focusing in on, if not the issues, than legitimate concerns about Harris and Walz, of which there are a myriad or more. Going after Walz for his pro-ChiCom<\/a> statements, his military claims<\/a>, or even the black and white evidence of far-Left legislation<\/a> that he signed.<\/p>\n But instead, far too many are trying to be clever by going after Walz for the #BlackLivesMatter \u201cmostly peaceful\u201d riots. As cromulent<\/a> as these accusations may be, to make those accusations is to beg the question of where Trump and MAGA stand on \u201cmostly peaceful\u201d riots\u2026 such as the January 6th<\/sup> temper-tantrum.<\/p>\n While the question of January 6th<\/sup> could easily be dealt with by simply saying that is was bad and that those who engaged in violence, at least, were wrong to do so. But like catnip presented to a cat, those on the pro-Trump right just can\u2019t help themselves and defend what happened on January 6th<\/sup> as either being peaceful, a simple protest no worse than what those on the Left have done, or otherwise try to minimize<\/a> it as just another more \u201cpeaceful\u201d riot compared to the #BlackLivesMatter riots of the Summer of \u201820. Some will go so far as to raise them to the level of martyrs and even lionize<\/a> and celebrate<\/a> them!<\/p>\n One has but to run these comments over footage of the violence to make the perfect campaign commercial, though the Republicans should count themselves lucky that the Democrats are to absorbed into their own niche fringe to care about anything that would be effective with the median moderate voters who decide elections.<\/p>\n This is bait.
