How about support for inhumanity, in that it is more than just human, it\u2019s inhuman. No, they literally call it \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/AwVdr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More Than Human Life<\/a>\u201d (MOTH).<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMOTH has already published a book promoting the idea that all of nature has rights and that the age of \u2018human supremacism\u2019 must end. This is made clear by the founder of the project, C\u00e9sar Rodr\u00edguez-Garavito, a NYU law professor whose \u2018current scholarship and legal practice focus on the intersection of climate change, biodiversity, rights of nature and human rights.\u2019 He writes in the book\u2019s introduction:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201c\u2018I had founded the initiative that inspired this book, which I called the More-Than-Human Rights (MOTH) Project. Co-organized with colleagues at New York University\u2019s School of Law, the MOTH Project brings together lawyers, scientists, Indigenous leaders, artists, writers, advocates, judges, journalists, philosophers, and other thinkers and doers from around the world who work together to advance ideas and practices that support the rights and well-being of nonhumans.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe movement is steeped in neo-paganism \u2014 also made vividly clear in Rodr\u00edguez-Garavito\u2019s introduction:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201c\u2018Don Sabino did not speak of rights, but of life. \u2018The forest is alive, there are spirits in the forest, they are the real rulers of the forest,\u2019 he told me in a voice so quiet that it felt like an invitation to listen intently to the sounds all around us. . . . If the forest is alive\u2014if the animals, the plants, the fungi, the river, the air, and the rocks are all animate beings\u2014then we need to find ways to hear their voices and spirits.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecollegefix.com\/nyu-law-school-project-seeks-to-obtain-rights-for-non-living-entities-trees-rocks-and-nature-itself\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Further<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cOne of the law schools leading the charge for this novel legal theory is New York University School of Law, which in 2022 launched the More Than Human Life Project, or MOTH, an initiative of the law school\u2019s Earth Rights Research and Action Clinic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe project \u201cis an interdisciplinary initiative advancing rights and well-being for humans, non-humans, and the web of life that sustains us all,\u201d according to its website.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIn addition to NYU Law, for example, Harvard University will offer a course this fall titled \u201cRights of Nature\u201d that \u2018will examine this fast-growing field, assessing the origins, practice, and potential of granting legal personhood to natural objects.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;No, not even a Red State like <a href=\"https:\/\/buckrail.com\/town-of-jackson-pledges-to-uphold-the-rights-of-nature\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wyoming<\/a> is free from the Gaia worshippers.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cOn Monday, July 1, the Town of Jackson passed a resolution to recognize and uphold the rights of nature.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe Town Council defined nature as \u2018the physical world and everything in it, including plants, animals, mountains, rivers and other features and products of the earth.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ironically, those who were most adamant about not excluding human beings from these nature rights were the local Tribal Nations:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cTown staff asked various local Tribes to review the resolution, and Tribal Nations specifically prioritized the inclusion of humans as a part of nature.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The insanity of this is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/jackson-wyo-approves-rights-of-nature-resolution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">manifest<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSo, wise city councilors: Do the plants in the ponds have a right not to be eaten by the moose? Do grubs have a right not to be consumed by black bears? Heck, do we have a right not to be killed by grizzlies?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMore germane to human uses of the magnificent beauty that is Jackson and the Tetons, do the trees have a right not to be cut down? If not, why not?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;All this may sound crazy to you, but it\u2019s not crazy to those who have been taught at Arizona State University\u2019s new \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article\/new-asu-curriculum-mandates-students-meet-sustainability-course-requirement-\/26057\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">School of Sustainability<\/a>\u201d, and oh howdy is it a woke curriculum.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cArizona State University in Tempe is making students take a course on \u201csustainability\u201d in order to graduate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cBeginning in the upcoming fall semester, students will need to take at least one class on \u2018sustainability\u2019 to meet general education requirements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cQualifying classes include \u2018Sustainable Horticulture\u2019 and \u2018Restoration &amp; Wildlife Plants,\u2019 as well as some classes that do not, at first glance, appear to have a connection to \u2018sustainability\u2019 or the climate, such as \u2018Hist[ory] of Black Women in America\u2019 and \u2018Race, Gender, and Media.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;TTFN.<\/p>\n<p><meta name=\"twitter:card\" align=\"center\" content=\"summary\" \/><meta name=\"twitter:site\" content=\"@PoliticHatBlog\" \/><meta name=\"twitter:creator\" content=\"@ThePoliticalHat\" \/><meta name=\"twitter:title\" content=\"Lesser Children Of Gaia: 'More Than Human' Rights;
