Rather than deal with actual criminals, some in Minnesota would rather <a href=\"https:\/\/www.minnpost.com\/state-government\/2023\/02\/anti-asian-bias-spurs-renewed-effort-to-update-minnesotas-hate-crime-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">track expressions of wrongthink<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSeparate from the reporting of hate crimes to the police \u2014 reports that are collected and reported annually by the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension \u2014 the bill sets up a system to report incidents that fall short of criminal acts or are not reported because the victim chooses not to. People could report events to community groups that might be more trusted. And those reports could be gathered to provide a fuller idea of what is happening on the ground.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRebecca Lucero, commissioner of the state Department of Human Rights, told the House Public Safety Committee last week she supports expanded options for people who face slurs or verbal attacks to report them. She said her office and state lawmakers would then have a better idea of the volume of such incidents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2018Using the data collected can help you and community groups inform next steps \u2014 education, outreach or some other decisions you decide to make,\u2019 Lucero told House members last month. Neither the human rights law or the hate crimes provisions apply, for example, to slurs shouted at a person because of their race, she said.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Does painting an entire group of people as morally inferior or morally culpable for the evils of society constitute discrimination. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/us\/ar-AA1owKXH\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">courts aren\u2019t sure<\/a>, but sooner or later they\u2019re going to have to find out.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAs the legal battle intensifies, DEI training is coming under special scrutiny, with at least seven court cases pending nationwide alleging that it constitutes workplace discrimination. Some practitioners have responded by voluntarily dialing down aspects of their \u201canti-racist\u201d curriculums \u2014 increasingly in demand since the murder of George Floyd in 2020 \u2014 which critics say go beyond traditional efforts to awaken White people to their inherent biases and instead paint them as inherently racist.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIn his lawsuit, for example, Young claimed that mandatory anti-racism training in the Colorado prison system fomented a \u2018hostile\u2019 workplace for White employees. Though the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit dismissed the suit, a three-judge panel found the training \u2018troubling on many levels,\u2019 saying its \u2018ideological messaging\u2019 and \u2018race-based rhetoric is well on the way\u2019 to constituting harassment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIn what legal experts have called a blueprint for future challenges, the majority said Young failed to demonstrate that the harassment was \u2018severe and pervasive.\u2019 So Young refiled his lawsuit in June, alleging that the training made his job more difficult and strained his relationships with co-workers who agreed with the lessons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2018There hasn\u2019t been that much attention paid in the trainings to how much the trainings themselves vilify dominant groups,\u2019 said Kenji Yoshino, director of New York University\u2019s Meltzer Center for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, who called the volume of cases challenging such efforts \u2018unprecedented.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Yet again, an attempt to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecollegefix.com\/equality-activists-defeat-attempt-to-reinstall-affirmative-action-in-california\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">re-legalize Affirmative Action<\/a> in California has been defeated, yet again\u2026 for now.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cA coalition of equality activists in California celebrated on Sunday their successful effort to kill an effort by the state\u2019s Democratic-controlled legislature to reinstall affirmative action.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCalifornia Democrats this year backed a bill that sought to create an exemption to bans on race-based decisions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe proposal, ACA-7, was put forth despite California\u2019s famous Proposition 209, which amended the state constitution to outlaw state-sponsored preferential treatment based on race, sex or ethnicity, as well as in the wake of the 2023 Supreme Court decision that struck down the use of race in college admissions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWhile the bill sailed through the Calif. state assembly, it stalled in the state senate \u2014 missing a summer deadline to make it on the November ballot.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;TTFN.<\/p>\n<p><meta name=\"twitter:card\" align=\"center\" content=\"summary\" \/><meta name=\"twitter:site\" content=\"@PoliticHatBlog\" \/><meta name=\"twitter:creator\" content=\"@ThePoliticalHat\" \/><meta name=\"twitter:title\" content=\"Racial Discrimination Obsession: 'Bias Incident' Reporting For Wrongthink Opinion;
