     With the nonsensical hullabaloo over Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito flying the “An Appeal to Heaven” flag on his own property, it’s time to repost this Flag Day post from a decade ago.<\/p>\n

     The “Appeal to Heaven” flag, also knows as\u00a0Pine Tree Flag<\/a>\u00a0\u201cwas used originally by a squadron of six cruisers commissioned under George Washington\u2019s authority as commander in chief of the Continental Army in October 1775.\u201d<\/p>\n
