Not only are they unlikely to be strictly enforced but will soon be redefined from protections to barriers, toward the end of being loosened \u2014 an ongoing process that pushes virtually every jurisdiction with legalized euthanasia\/assisted suicide toward ever-widening the qualifications to be made dead.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Also, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/health\/other\/assisted-suicide-prescription-price-caps-beat-legislative-deadline\/ar-AA1bqOJ5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nevada Legislature<\/a> voted to legalize euthanasia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Thankfully, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/news\/politics-and-government\/nevada\/2023-legislature\/lombardo-vetoes-2-big-bills-on-final-day-2789118\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo <em>vetoed<\/em> the euthanasia bill<\/a> passed by the legislature.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2018End of life decisions are never easy,\u2019 Lombardo wrote in his veto message. \u2018Individuals and family members must often come together to face many challenges \u2014 including deciding what is the best course of treatment for a loved one.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cLombardo said the provisions in the bill \u2018unnecessary\u2019 due to expansions and improvements in palliative care services, or care for people living with serious illnesses, and pain management.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;However, the Democrats are one seat away in the state Senate from having a veto-proof majority (they currently have one in the Assembly despite Republican having received more votes for the Assembly overall than the Democrats), so a single seat pick up in the state Senate and keeping their seats in the Assembly means they\u2019d be able to overturn this veto in the next session.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Surprisingly, a European country has stepped back from the euthanasia slippery slope: The <a href=\"https:\/\/nationaltcenterforetik.dk\/nyheder\/2023\/okt\/det-etiske-raad-har-taget-stilling-til-doedshjaelp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Danish Ethical Council<\/a> voted 16-1 <em>against<\/em> euthanasia.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAfter much deliberation and discussion in the Ethical Council, a majority of 16 of the Council&#8217;s 17 members have come to the conclusion that there is too much at stake around our basic human view of, that euthanasia should be introduced in Denmark.
