Despite a degenerative condition that caused \u201cagonizing pain,\u201d she was an award-winning Paralympian. (That description does raise questions about her pain treatment.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe quote comes from the filmmaker.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c<em>\u2018Absolutely, people should have the right to say whether they want to have a doctor help them at the last moment. If they\u2019re going to die anyway, this is not suicide,\u2019 she said. The right to die saved Marieke Vervoort\u2019s life, the director said: \u2018She was gathering her pills together at age 29. She lived an extra 12 years, with great joys and highs and did wonderful things.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe argument is that she did not kill herself because she chose assisted suicide. This strikes me as a cruel distinction, communicating: We\u2019ll do it for you, because we agree your life doesn\u2019t have value anymore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSuffering is no joke. Neither is telling people they are a burden and making suicide a preference.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When you\u2019ve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/ontario-projected-to-see-5000-euthanasia-deaths-in-2023-alone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">normalized killing yourself<\/a>, and given people ample reason to not live, you unsurprisingly get more and more people killing themselves.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe Canadian province of Ontario has seen deaths by state-sanctioned euthanasia skyrocket by 25 percent in the first five months of 2023, meaning the province is on track to see a whopping 5,000 die via the grim procedure this year alone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAccording to up-to-date information posted online by the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition (EPC), Ontario saw some 1,866 deaths by medical assistance in dying (MAiD) from January to May 2023. By comparison, in the first five months of 2022, 1,488 people died by MAiD.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When you have a socialist healthcare system, one way to remove the burden the poor and sick have on said socialist healthcare system is to have the system be so bad that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/canadian-disabled-woman-opts-for-euthanasia-because-she-cant-get-timely-assistance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suicide is considered preferable<\/a> than all the other \u201cfree\u201d socialist healthcare combined.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cA quadriplegic woman in Bowmanville, Ont., has applied for medical assistance in dying (MAID), saying it&#8217;s easier to access than the support services she needs to live her life comfortably.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRose Finlay, 33, has been a full-time wheelchair user since a diving accident when she was 17.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cBut for the past year, she says, she&#8217;s been without the reliable daily support she needs. Without that support, which includes bathroom assistance, she suffers from recurring urinary tract and kidney infections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWith no other way to earn an income, Finlay applied for the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) and says she was told by a representative over the phone that it would take at least six to eight months to have her application approved.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAccording to the federal government&#8217;s website, the approval period for MAID is only 90 days.
