     Australia was first settled by the British to serve as a penal colony. Now it looks like Australia is embracing its heritage. \u00a0 Not happy enough with proposing to abolish online anonymity<\/a> in this panopticon of a prison, Australia is testing a new quarantine app<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018The government of South Australia, one of the country\u2019s six states, developed and is now testing an app as Orwellian as any in the free world to enforce its quarantine rules.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018People in South Australia will be forced to download an app that combines facial recognition and geolocation. The state will text them at random times, and thereafter they will have 15 minutes to take a picture of their face in the location where they are supposed to be. Should they fail, the local police department will be sent to follow up in person. \u2018We don\u2019t tell them how often or when, on a random basis they have to reply within 15 minutes,\u2019 Premier Steven Marshall explained. \u201cI think every South Australian should feel pretty proud that we are the national pilot for the home-based quarantine app,\u201d\u2019 Friedersdorf added.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

     Ironically, South Australia was an Australian state that wasn\u2019t<\/em> founded as a penal colony, yet has a premier who says people should thank<\/em> the government for forcing<\/a> a quarantine app on them. And what happens when the government catches people not adhering to these draconian rules? Fine them<\/a>, ration their alcohol<\/a>, and even joke about gassing people do death<\/a>\u2026 unless you are LGBTQ&c.<\/a> apparently.<\/p>\n

     And if people complain about it online in social media? Just delete or alter<\/a> the doubleplusungood sentiment so that people only see the praising of their overlords!<\/p>\n

     …and the beatings will continue until moral improves!<\/p>\n
