     Most people understand that when a woman is raped by a man, they might be frightened of being in a vulnerable position when men are around. The head of Scotland\u2019s biggest rape crisis center thinks that women who were raped by someone with a penis and don\u2019t want to be around someone who has a penis are the real monsters here because it\u2019s transphobic to fear being raped<\/a> by a \u201cwoman\u201d with a penis.<\/p>\n

\u201cTHE head of one of Scotland\u2019s biggest rape crisis centres has suggested \u2018bigoted\u2019 rape survivors should be re-educated about transgender rights as part of recovering from their trauma.<\/p>\n

\u201cMridul Wadhwa, a transgender woman [sic<\/em>], said people would not truly recover unless they addressed their \u2018unacceptable beliefs\u2019 because \u2018therapy is political\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe [sic<\/em>] said: \u2018We will work with you… but please expect to be challenged on your prejudices.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThe comments imply rape survivors may be treated differently according to their political views.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

     And just how crazy is this Wadhwa person.<\/p>\n

\u201cWadhwa, a former SNP council candidate in Edinburgh, last year made it onto an all-women shortlist for the party\u2019s Holyrood candidacy in Stirling.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut she left the party in December after MSPs backed a law to let rape survivors choose the sex, rather than the gender, of the person examining them, and joined the Greens instead.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
