New Hampshire<\/a> and West Virginia<\/a> have already been noted for having bills to prohibit the state from teaching \u201cdivisive concepts\u201d in the form of \u201cdiversity training\u201d according to Critical Race Theory. Iowa has also joined in this fight.\u00a0 House Study Bill 258<\/a> was introduced, an the main text reads as follows:<\/p>\n Section 1. NEW SECTION. 261H.7 Race and sex stereotyping \u2014\u2014 training by institution prohibited. The full bill can be read below:<\/p>\n\n
\n1. For purposes of this section, unless the context otherwise requires:
\na. \u201cDivisive concepts\u201d includes all of the following:
\n(1) That one race or sex is inherently superior to another race or sex.
\n(2) That the United States of America and the state of Iowa are fundamentally racist or sexist.
\n(3) That an individual, by virtue of the individual\u2019s race or sex, is inherently or systematically racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously.
\n(4) That an individual should be discriminated against or receive adverse treatment solely or partly because of the individual\u2019s race or sex.
\n(5) That members of one race or sex cannot and should not attempt to treat others without respect to race or sex.
\n(6) That an individual\u2019s moral character is necessarily determined by the individual\u2019s race or sex.
\n(7) That an individual, by virtue of the individual\u2019s race or sex, bears responsibility for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race or sex.
\n(8) That any individual should feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress on account of that individual\u2019s race or sex.
\n(9) That meritocracy or traits such as a hard work ethic are racist or sexist, or were created by a particular race to oppress another race.
\n(10) Any other form of race or sex stereotyping or any other form of race or sex scapegoating.
\nb. \u201cRace or sex scapegoating\u201d means assigning fault, blame, or bias to a race or sex, or to members of a race or sex because of their race or sex, or claiming that, consciously or unconsciously, and by virtue of persons\u2019 race or sex, members of any race are inherently racist or are inherently inclined to oppress others, or that members of a sex are inherently sexist or inclined to oppress others.
\nc. \u201cRace or sex stereotyping\u201d means ascribing character traits, values, moral and ethical codes, privileges, status, or beliefs to a race or sex, or to an individual because of the individual\u2019s race or sex.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
