{"id":1763,"date":"2013-03-24T14:00:23","date_gmt":"2013-03-24T21:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/politicalhat.com\/?p=1763"},"modified":"2013-04-13T20:25:13","modified_gmt":"2013-04-14T03:25:13","slug":"2nd-amendment-under-assault-in-nevada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2013\/03\/24\/2nd-amendment-under-assault-in-nevada\/","title":{"rendered":"2nd Amendment Under Assault in Nevada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;An &#8220;assault weapons&#8221; ban has been introduced in Nevada by the loathsome Sen. &#8220;Tick&#8221; Segerblom in the form of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leg.state.nv.us\/Session\/77th2013\/Reports\/history.cfm?ID=925\" target=\"_blank\">SB396<\/a>.  It would:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prohibit the purchase, sale or transfer of commonly owned semi-automatic firearms under the political misnomer &#8220;assault weapons,&#8221; and makes a violation of any of these provisions a felony.<\/li>\n<li>Prohibit the purchase, possession, sale or transfer of &#8220;large capacity magazines&#8221; \u2013 meaning standard capacity magazines capable of holding ten or more rounds.<\/li>\n<li>Prohibit the purchase or possession of &#8220;metal piercing bullets&#8221;\u009d which is a clear attack on all ammunition.<\/li>\n<li>Criminalize private transfers of firearms by requiring background checks on firearms transfers unless the person receiving the firearm has a Concealed Carry permit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A companion bill, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leg.state.nv.us\/Session\/77th2013\/Reports\/history.cfm?DocumentType=1&amp;BillNo=234\" target=\"_blank\">AB234<\/a>, by Assemblyman Horne would impost an excise tax on guns *and* bullets!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It is bills, and legislators, like that that provide all the justification necessary for limiting the legislature to meeting only 120 days ever two years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Legislators can be contacted <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capwiz.com\/nra\/state\/main\/?state=nv&amp;view=myofficials\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>, or alternately opinions can be given <em>directly<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leg.state.nv.us\/App\/Opinions\/77th2013\/A\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;On the flip side there are some very good bills to support:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.leg.state.nv.us\/Session\/77th2013\/Reports\/history.cfm?DocumentType=2&amp;BillNo=226\" target=\"_blank\">SB226<\/a> would eliminate local restrictions on gun owners, including gun registration schemes.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/nelis.leg.state.nv.us\/77th2013\/App#\/77th2013\/Bill\/Overview\/SB137\" target=\"_blank\">SB137<\/a> would make Nevada a &#8220;Constitutional Carry&#8221; state.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/nelis.leg.state.nv.us\/77th2013\/App#\/77th2013\/Bill\/Overview\/SB223\" target=\"_blank\">SB223<\/a> would allow employees at public colleges and K-12 schools who hold a valid CCW to carry on campus to protect their students.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.leg.state.nv.us\/Session\/77th2013\/Reports\/history.cfm?DocumentType=1&amp;BillNo=340\" target=\"_blank\">AB340<\/a> would also require uniform application of gun laws by eliminated local restrictions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;For freedom.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;An &#8220;assault weapons&#8221; ban has been introduced in Nevada by the loathsome Sen. &#8220;Tick&#8221; Segerblom in the form of SB396.
