Instead of giving additional health benefits to those who already had more of them, we can start to level the playing field a bit.\u201d\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis is what happens when \u2018science\u2019 and the racial identitarianism of the modern intellectual Left collide. \u2018Historically,\u2019 says the Times, the committees tasked with deciding this sort of thing relied on \u2018scientific evidence to inform its decisions.\u2019 Nowadays, members are \u2018weighing social justice concerns as well.\u2019 It would be merely obscene if ethics professors were theorizing about saving \u2014 or, rather, not saving \u2014 lives based on race. How long before half-baked social science is being used by technocrats in positions of power and influence to ration medical care? You know who else is a \u2018medical ethicist\u2019 at the University of Pennsylvania? Ezekiel Emanuel, a Biden adviser on medical issues, who believes human beings are bits of GDP that have no real purpose once they hit a creaky 75 (with an exception made, no doubt, for the 78-year-old president-elect). Emanuel and Schmidt, in fact, co-authored a textbook titled, \u2018Rationing and Resource Allocation in Healthcare.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Incorrect thinking being <a href=\"https:\/\/campusreform.org\/article?id=16395\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">declared a mental disorder<\/a> and repression branded as treatment isn\u2019t a new idea, but it appears that it isn\u2019t an old one either.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe American Medical Association announced that it considers racism to be a \u2018public health threat\u2019 and will take actions to \u2018mitigate its effects.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cFounded in 1847, the AMA is a leading association of American medical professionals and students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2018The AMA recognizes that racism negatively impacts and exacerbates health inequities among historically marginalized communities,\u2019 American Medical Association board member Willarda Edwards said in a statement. \u2018Without systemic and structural-level change, health inequities will continue to exist, and the overall health of the nation will suffer.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cEdwards added that considering racism as a threat to public health will aid in \u2018creating pathways for truth, healing, and reconciliation.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;If you are advocating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/university-of-pittsburgh-medical-center-punishes-doctor-who-questioned-affirmative-action\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">discriminating against patients<\/a> because of their race, then you (or the non-discriminated against race you favor) has <em>real<\/em> institutional privilege.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIt\u2019s futile to try to keep up with all the PC outrages, but Hans Bader explains the latest, at least as of this morning, here: \u2018The University of Pittsburgh has removed a program director at its medical center because he published a scholarly, peer-reviewed white paper discussing the pitfalls of affirmative action for black and Hispanic students. This violated the First Amendment . . .\u2019 Mr. Bader gives chapter and verse on the legal problems with what the school did to the program director, Dr. Norman C.
