{"id":17432,"date":"2020-12-08T01:28:15","date_gmt":"2020-12-08T08:28:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/politicalhat.com\/?p=17432"},"modified":"2020-12-08T01:28:15","modified_gmt":"2020-12-08T08:28:15","slug":"los-angeles-district-attorney-to-the-people-of-l-a-welcome-to-the-jungle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2020\/12\/08\/los-angeles-district-attorney-to-the-people-of-l-a-welcome-to-the-jungle\/","title":{"rendered":"Los Angeles District Attorney To The People of L.A.: Welcome To The Jungle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Not wanting to be left behind in the race to be the most \u201csocially just\u201d to places like Minneapolis, Seattle, and Portland, the District Attorney for Los Angeles County has decided to <a href=\"https:\/\/da.lacounty.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/pdf\/SPECIAL-DIRECTIVE-20-07.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">not prosecute<\/a> silly little misdemeanors like trespassing, disturbing the peace, making criminal threats, loitering to commit prostitution, or resisting arrest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This list isn\u2019t just limited to \u201cvictimless crimes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The listed crimes include, but are noted as not being limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trespass<\/li>\n<li>Disturbing the Peace<\/li>\n<li>Driving Without A Valid License<\/li>\n<li>Driving On A Suspended License<\/li>\n<li>Criminal Threats<\/li>\n<li>Drug &amp; Paraphernalia Possession<\/li>\n<li>Minor in Possession of Alcohol<\/li>\n<li>Drinking in Public<\/li>\n<li>Under the Influence of Controlled Substance<\/li>\n<li>Public Intoxication<\/li>\n<li>Loitering<\/li>\n<li>Loitering To Commit Prostitution<\/li>\n<li>Resisting Arrest<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Why are they doing this? Because they claim to want to focus on serious and violent crime, and to that end to make very limited exceptions to the above list. But this ignores that if you ignore smaller crimes\u2014and all of the above listed are still crimes\u2014then you end up getting serious and violent crimes (<em>e<\/em>.<em>g<\/em>.
