It has no place in a justice system worthy of that name.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; ACLU (@ACLU) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ACLU\/status\/1273087217913618433?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 17, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Stop laughing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And the United States of America <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/news\/dem-sen-kaine-claims-united-states-created-slavery-and-didnt-inherit-slavery-from-anybody\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">created slavery out off thin air<\/a>!<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSenator Tim Kaine (D., Va.) claimed during a Tuesday speech on the Senate floor that the United States \u2018created\u2019 slavery and \u2018didn\u2019t inherit slavery from anybody.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSpeaking in favor of the Justice in Policing Act of 2020, which Kaine introduced with Senators Cory Booker (D., N.J.) and Kamala Harris (D., Calif.) last week, Kaine urged his fellow senators to \u2018dismantle the structures of racism that our federal, state, and local governments carefully erected and maintained over centuries.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2018The first African Americans sent into the English colonies came to Point Comfort in 1619. They were slaves, they had been captured against their will, but they landed in colonies that didn\u2019t have slavery \u2014 there were no laws about slavery in the colonies at that time,\u2019 Kaine explained. \u2018The United States didn\u2019t inherit slavery from anybody. We created it. It got created by the Virginia General Assembly and the legislatures of other states. It got created by the court systems in colonial America that enforced fugitive slave laws.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Slavery existed throughout the world and throughout history. What Sen. Kaine did get right was that slavery was <em>alien<\/em> to America and the English Common Law until it infected the Colonies like an infectious disease, but slavery as an instituted was not created by the Colonies.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And, of course, everyone needs to be on the same page and those who are White must prostate themselves in the name of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/what-does-being-an-ally-look-like-companies-offer-training-in-support-of-black-colleagues-11594602000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">allyship<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAlly training promotes the idea that an ally, generally someone who is white or otherwise in the majority, supports the workplace advancement of people who are Black or otherwise in the minority, and stands up for them when they experience discrimination or unfair treatment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAt supermarket chain Kroger Co. , one of its workplace groups, the African American Associate Resource Group, developed an allyship guide with advice on how to support Black colleagues and recommendations for books and movies that discuss race, such as \u2018Just Mercy,\u2019 a 2019 film about a Harvard-educated lawyer\u2019s fight on behalf of a defendant on death row, and \u2018Between the World and Me,\u2019 by Ta-Nehisi Coates.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2018We know allyship is a huge lever in creating change,\u2019 said Lindsay-Rae McIntyre, chief diversity officer at Microsoft. \u2018It isn\u2019t a \u201ccheck the box.\u201d It\u2019s a behavior.
