     Nothing says \u201cfighting systemic injustice\u201d like appointing a felon<\/a> who pimped out children<\/a> as \u201cstreet czar<\/a>\u201d to provide \u201calternatives to policing\u201d.\u00a0 Unsurprisingly, this bright idea came from the City of Seattle.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeattle now has on its payroll a convicted pimp who once vowed to \u2018go to war\u2019 with the city \u2014 a $150,000 \u2018street czar\u2019 whose mission is to come up with \u2018alternatives to policing,\u2019 reports said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAndre Taylor \u2014 who appeared in the documentary \u2018American Pimp\u2019 about his life as \u2018Gorgeous Dre\u2019 \u2014 is getting $12,500 per month for a year, along with an office in Seattle\u2019s Municipal Tower, according to the contract published by PubliCola.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt comes just a year after his organization, Not This Time, was paid $100,000 to sponsor a speaker series that was called \u2018Conversations with the Streets.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was later accused of trying to get millions from the city for militants who set up the controversial police-free Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP) zone, the Seattle Times said.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
