{"id":16776,"date":"2020-07-15T04:02:36","date_gmt":"2020-07-15T11:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/politicalhat.com\/?p=16776"},"modified":"2020-07-15T04:02:36","modified_gmt":"2020-07-15T11:02:36","slug":"concerning-the-forced-trajectory-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2020\/07\/15\/concerning-the-forced-trajectory-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Concerning The \u201cForced Trajectory Project\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;While some cities\u2019 and counties\u2019 leadership is fully on board with the woke demand of \u201cdefunding the police\u201d or otherwise more honestly wanting to abolish the police altogether, others are worried of losing their phoney-baloney jobs and would have to be tricked into it with soft words and seemingly innocuous statements between crazed nonsense.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;On such example of this is the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/news3lv.com\/news\/local\/las-vegas-families-to-send-demands-to-lawmakers-authorities-to-fight-police-brutality\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Forced Trajectory Project<\/a>\u201d with alleged \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spreaker.com\/user\/oppermanreport\/common-sense-solutions-to-policing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">common sense solutions<\/a>\u201d to policing via 36 \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MichelleRindels\/status\/1280624388950253569\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">demands<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;That this list of <a href=\"https:\/\/news3lv.com\/news\/local\/las-vegas-families-to-send-demands-to-lawmakers-authorities-to-fight-police-brutality\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">demands presented to the Nevada legislature<\/a> for it\u2019s special session to cover budget shortfalls was at least in part being due to the death of a suspect who \u201creached and grabbed for a gun that had fallen to the ground, and turned towards one of the officers\u201d at the scene.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16777\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Forced-Trajectory-Project-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"272\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Forced-Trajectory-Project-1.jpg 360w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Forced-Trajectory-Project-1-300x227.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16778\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Forced-Trajectory-Project-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"258\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Forced-Trajectory-Project-2.jpg 360w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Forced-Trajectory-Project-2-300x215.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16779\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Forced-Trajectory-Project-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"340\" height=\"219\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Forced-Trajectory-Project-3.jpg 679w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Forced-Trajectory-Project-3-300x193.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 340px) 100vw, 340px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Let us go over the points, shall we? It will not be a full fisk of the entire statement but a more honest and less snarky examination of their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=63nCNEBA0a0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">thirty-six demands<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMandate independent investigations in all police related killings in Nevada; reopen cases in the last 30 years and all current cases moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;If there is anything to suggest that particular case requires revisiting, than give reasons to do so beyond presumptions of institutional racism. But note how in a seemingly neutral and reasonable statement is a rather sweeping presumption of guilt upon the various Sheriffs, District Attorneys, and others of both major political parties. This \u201cdemand\u201d isn\u2019t actually about revisiting cases, but tricking people in buying into the presumption.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cReturn the victim&#8217;s belongings to the family after the case is closed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Again, a presumption of being the victim. \u00a0 Property used as evidence ought to be treated no differently than any other property used as evidence or taken from arrested suspects or dead. One ought to note that a special victim-hood is being pushed here that requires special rights, and a special villains who require special detriments applied to them preemptively.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIssue an independent liaison\/advocate to impacted people to help navigate the criminal legal system and address their needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;There we go, special treatment. Also noted that \u201cimpacted people\u201d is a rather vague term that could mean anything from someone shot by the police to all non-White individuals in the state.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cEliminate qualified immunity in the state of Nevada.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Qualified immunity exists for the same reason that \u201cstand your ground laws\u201d and the Castle Doctrine exist: People should not be punished for having to make a split-second decision with their life, and one would reasonably see it, at stake; this is especially so when the officers\u2019 job is to engage, arrest, and even stop with lethal force if necessary suspects on behalf of the government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;What eliminating qualified immunity is make officers less likely to intervene against criminal suspects, even if it means that other people die, since you as an individual have<em> no <\/em>right to have the police protect you.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cOverturn U.S. Supreme Court cases Tennessee v. Garner and Graham v. Connor that justifies lethal force based on officers&#8217; \u2018belief\u2019 that their lives or others&#8217; lives are in danger.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Beyond the obvious that no state legislature can overturn decisions of the Supreme Court of the United State, justifiable use of self-defense, up to an including the use of lethal force, is well understood (though there are variations amongst the states) the being in reasonable fear or one\u2019s life or another\u2019s life <em>regardless of if you are a police officer or not<\/em>, is part and parcel of any justification of self-defense involving lethal force.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;What this demand does is demand that police officers surrender their rights that other people have. Yet again, this would result in the Ferguson Effect on steroids.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe immediate resignation of Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson and an investigation into the Clark County District Attorney\u2019s office for prosecutorial misconduct, holding Wolfson criminally liable if misconduct is discovered.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The current D.A. has already <a href=\"https:\/\/news3lv.com\/news\/local\/las-vegas-families-to-send-demands-to-lawmakers-authorities-to-fight-police-brutality\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">released a statement<\/a> that speaks to the point better than I.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAbolish police unions, including the Las Vegas Police Protective Association.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Does this mean we can abolish the Teachers\u2019 Union? This is just another demand (and as you will see, not the last), that wishes to make police officers so vulnerable to \u201clawfare\u201d as to practically empower criminals to commit crimes at will.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRemoval of the restraint chair utilized in Clark County Detention Center that has been used to brutalize civilians including Nicholas Farah who died while being restrained in the chair.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;How else would the police restrain someone who needs to be restrained? If there is a better way, then suggest it rather than push a demand that clearly presumes that no prisoner or suspect could ever be a danger to themselves or others while in custody.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRepeal the Nevada Peace Officer Bill of Rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Removing <a href=\"https:\/\/lvppa.com\/member-benefits\/bill-of-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">legal protections<\/a> against police officers will do in practice what \u201cdefund the police\u201d and even \u201cabolish the police\u201d would do under the guise of \u201ccommunity reform\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMandate periodic drug\/alcohol testing and mental health evaluation for all police officers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Can we do that same for teachers, suspects, or any convicted criminal?<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMandate drug\/alcohol testing immediately after use-of-force incidents for all police officers involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;See comment immediately above.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCreate legislation surrounding body worn cameras, including: requiring all police officers regardless of seniority or ranking to wear them, requiring officers to leave their body worn cameras on while apprehending civilians including after civilian is officially in-custody, not allowing police to redact or edit footage and making the footage available immediately after the incident at no cost to the public.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Oh, that will only end up helping the police in the end.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRelease names and photographs of all officers involved in police homicides in the last 30 years and moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;So now the demands include doxxing police officers.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMandate community control over Nevada police department budgets.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;We already have elected officials who allocate budgets. But note they want \u201ccommunity control\u201d which means putting it in the hands, not of extant elected officials, but of who knows who with who knows what ulterior motives.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCreate a Victim&#8217;s of Police Homicide Compensation program to address the immediate needs of impacted people including protection from police intimidation, funeral costs, monetary compensation for job loss, access to medical and mental healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;There we go again with that \u201cimpacted people\u201d reference, along with the assumption of special status. \u00a0 If you want compensation, you should be treated no differently than anyone else who is seeking compensation from the state.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRedirect and restructure first response dispatch to reduce emergency response handled by police.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The reason police are used as first responders in non-fire\/medical emergency situations, is because many such situations can easily go to hell, and first responders who aren\u2019t ready to deal with that could end up dead.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRelease official reports, including the autopsy report, police reports, and crime scene investigation reports to survivors and\/or impacted families within 45 days of the incident.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This should be treated no differently than reports, <em>et al<\/em>., from any other department, branch, or part of the government.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCreate legislation that mandates police officers to exhaust all possible ways of intervention, including de-escalation tactics before moving to utilize force, and attach accountability measures if protocol is not followed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Police have to act in split-second decisions, and taking away their option to defend themselves if necessary is the same as eliminating \u201cstand your ground\u201d for someone whose job on behalf of the government is to insert themselves into potentially dangerous situation.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRequire police to have individual insurance so that police officers are held accountable individually when they violate civil and human rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This, again, is attempting to punish police for doing their job and would result in police just not inserting themselves into potentially dangerous situation.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRemove the ability to receive administrative paid leave for officers involved in police homicide.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This would punish innocent police financially, which again would encourage them to not intervene to stop criminals or protect people therefrom. As Mick Jagger sang, this would presume that \u201call the cops are criminals; all the sinners saints\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCreate a liaison who can advocate for the tribal community and foster communication between all governing bodies.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Is there actully a problem between the Sheriff\u2019s office in Clark County and the lone Indian Reservation, or with any other Sheriffs\u2019 offices and any of the other Indian Reservations in the state?<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRemove the ability for police officers guilty of excessive-use-of-force to take plea bargains.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Would this be extended to people who attack and murder police?<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cImmediate resignation of Sheriff Joseph Lombardo.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The Sheriff can speak for himself.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cImmediate termination of officers when they act in an unprofessional manner caught on body worn cameras.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Who decides what is \u201cunprofessional\u201d? Would this be applied to anyone else working for the government?<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRestructure the civilian review board so that it is effective and representative of the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This is simply a declaration that the \u201ccorrect\u201d people (such as self-declared \u201ccommunity organizers\u201d perhaps) ought to be in control who represent what \u201cthe community\u201d is supposed to be and not actually reflective of the actual community, like putting #CHAZ in control of the police, perhaps.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCreate a local, state, and national database displaying all police misconduct.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Will the same be done for other government workers, such as teachers and social workers? Will such a database also include the misconduct of criminals? Would \u201cpolice misconduct\u201d be that ill-defined \u201cunprofessional\u201d actions?<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMandate a special prosecutor for all police related killings.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Who decides who this special prosecutor is?<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRestructure police training entirely; eliminate the \u201cshoot to kill\u201d mentality, require recruits to have a four-year college degree in the social sciences, raise recruitment age to 25, and include effective crisis intervention training, cultural competency training, and extend the academy training period while allowing for the community to have a say in police training.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A lot to unpack here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This isn\u2019t the movies. \u00a0 If you need to shoot it is because you are in reasonable fear of your, or someone else\u2019s, life. You don\u2019t shoot to would. This is basically no different than completely disarming the police.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The requirement that police have a degree in \u201csocial sciences\u201d is a naked attempt to make the police force more indoctrinated with college Leftist ideolgy, as is the \u201ccultural competency training\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCreate departmental protocol for reporting in-custody deaths within 72 hours.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Another innocuous, or innocuous sounding proposal to distract from the aforementioned extremism.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCreate protocols that preserve human life above detaining an injured person or a person with mental health issues and include accountability measures if not followed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In other words, if a person is dangerous, they are to be let go. This is objectively pro-criminal.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCreate legislation that holds police officers accountable for: tampering with the crime scene after they have killed someone, lying under oath, fabricating and\/or withholding evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I\u2019m pretty sure that doing these things is already illegal.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cDemilitarize the LVMPD, all Nevada police departments, all police departments nationwide and reallocate funds to reinvest in the Black community, communities of Color, working class communities, education and mental health supports.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Along with effectivly, or literally, dis-arming the police, they must be made completely helpless so that the money can be redirected to where, presumably the self-declared \u201ccommunity leaders\u201d want.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMake accessible and public police radio channels.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This would not only prevent the police from being able to respond to an organized riot of Antifa-style uprising or attempt to create an \u201cautonomous zone\u201d, but would allow such groups to ambush the disarmed (effectively or literally) police.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cExpunge the arrest and criminal records of those proven to be wrongfully accused so that their arrest record does not further criminalize them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Only if it applied to <em>everyone<\/em> including police accused of misconduct but found innocent.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRestructure police homicide and in-custody death press conferences, requiring that they are independently run, and end the review of the arrest records of victims, reviewing only facts that pertain to the incident.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And just <em>who<\/em> would \u201cindependently run\u201d these press conferences?
