Dr. Meriwether has never knowingly used feminine titles and pronouns to refer to men or masculine titles and pronouns to refer to women. Dr. Meriwether refers to students in this fashion to foster an atmosphere of seriousness and mutual respect that is befitting the college classroom,\u2019 the suit adds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMeriwether told Milliken he could call Bruening by his name like all his other students, but \u2018was not willing to refer to Bruening as a woman.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe college then launched an investigation, which concluded that Meriwether had broken the school&#8217;s \u2018nondiscriminatory policy\u2019 and had \u2018created a hostile environment for Bruening.\u2019 The warning was officially issued June 22.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe conservative legal nonprofit Alliance Defending Freedom filed a lawsuit in November 2018 against Shawnee State U for \u2018punishing\u2019 Meriwether in \u2018expressing views that differ from its own orthodoxy and for declining to express its mandated ideological message.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cJudge Susan Dlott of the U.S District Court sided with SSU on February 12, saying Meriwether \u2018was not protected under the First Amendment.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Women only activities aren\u2019t only for biological women, but also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecollegefix.com\/transgender-activists-file-bias-report-against-lesbian-crafting-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dudes who say they\u2019re chicks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cLast spring a newly formed crafting group began posting flyers around the University of Michigan campus seeking members. The Ann Arbor-based group, \u2018Lez Get Crafty,\u2019 limited its membership to lesbians that wanted to \u2018express their creative side.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cBut the group quickly ran into trouble.
