Sadly for some, this has become a manichean stance where some believe that the coronavirus is no big deal and the consequences of zero social\/physical distancing is negligible while not only will more people die staying at home due to suicide, overdoses, &amp;c. but that any reasonable restriction will destroy the economy more than a pandemic would, while a much smaller number believe that to blindly accept absolute dictates of government officials is the only way to avoid a comparable doom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16517\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Corona-chan-the-flu.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Corona-chan-the-flu.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Corona-chan-the-flu-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Corona-chan-the-flu-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Corona-chan-the-flu-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The worst fear is that if any reasonable restriction, within the long held police power of the state, to prevent people from becoming a danger to others, is lifted enough people will get together to become mass disease vectors to potentially cause hospitals and out capacity to deal with the outbreak to fall behind the demand for such services, while people and businesses don\u2019t voluntarily open enough to \u201csave the economy\u201d, let alone scale back and reduce\/cease operations further to protect themselves, their employees, friends, and family.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Indications are, that at least most Americans are going to be reasonable and still employ proper social distancing, regardless. The greater threat, then comes from government overreach. This is where the rule of law and known precedent during emergencies comes into effect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Case in point, Nevada\u2019s incompetent Governor Sisolak.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;He has already been <a href=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2020\/03\/25\/nevada-governor-bans-prescription-of-coronavirus-medication\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">savaged<\/a>, including here, for prohibiting doctors outside of hospitals, from proscribing medications which showed promise for treating the Coronavirus, even though those drugs are already FDA approved for other uses, with side-effects known.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It turns out that despite Sisolak banning new prescriptions outside of hospitals because it was so experimental\/dangerous (even though hospitals and prior Coronavirus related prescriptions weren\u2019t stopped despite this being deemed so dangerous), the Dept. of Corrections in Nevada <a href=\"https:\/\/kprcradio.iheart.com\/featured\/the-pursuit-of-happiness\/content\/2020-04-06-dem-governor-who-banned-hydroxychloroquine-gets-caught-hoarding-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">was caught stockpiling the drug<\/a>. When asked about this, he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VictorJoecks\/status\/1248017337615147010\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">deflected<\/a> and started attacking Federal officials\u2026 which was suspecious.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\" align=\"center\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hmm&#8230; This is not a denial. This statement is from NDOC. Thread (1\/X) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OJYyskWmfT\">pic.twitter.com\/OJYyskWmfT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Victor Joecks (@VictorJoecks) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VictorJoecks\/status\/1248017337615147010?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 8, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;But thanks to the rule of law and sensible officals who can provide a check and balance to the Governor\u2019s idiocy, <a href=\"http:\/\/360newslasvegas.com\/sisolak-order-closing-gun-stores-broke-the-law-joe-lombardo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">illegal deprivation of rights under color of law have been stopped<\/a>. Sisolak ordered gun stores to shut down. This was a violation of NRS\u2002414.155, and even the Sheriff in Democrat-heavy Clark County (home of Las Vegas and a majority of Nevadans) told Sisolak to pound sand.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAccording to NRS 414,155 Gov. Sisolak\u2019s Declaration of Emergency Order shutting down gun stores earlier this month, after labeling them non-essential, broke the law. According to firearms lawyer Don Green \u2018The reason why they can remain open, if they chose to do so, is that we have a law in Nevada. It\u2019s NRS 414.155. It\u2019s very clear. It\u2019s probably one of the most clear statutes prohibiting conduct of a government official\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSheriff Lombardo refused to enforce Sisolak\u2019s Emergency Declaration against Clark County gun stores saying \u2018I know that\u2019s an exemption referencing the Governor\u2019s ability to through NRS 414, and we haven\u2019t seen anything that indicates it\u2019s going to be a problem,\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThat law limits to the governor\u2019s emergency powers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A further excess of power that Sisolak tried to exercise but was slapped down involved Easter services and other religious services being banned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;There was a blanket <a href=\"https:\/\/nvhealthresponse.nv.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/2020-03-20.Declaration-of-Emergency-Directive-003.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ban on social gatherings<\/a> open to the public. Even though Nevada does not have a Religious Freedom Restoration Act, such a blanket ban meets those conditions nonetheless. A <a href=\"https:\/\/nvhealthresponse.nv.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Declaration-of-Emergency-Directive-010-Stay-at-Home-3-31-20.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">newer declaration restricted people<\/a> more generally to \u201cstay at home\u201d, though outdoor activity that complies with social distancing measures outside of their household was specifically exempted\u2014again this was compliant with the Religious Freedom Restoration Act even though there was not legal requirement that it does so.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Your humble author brings up the Religious Freedom Restoration act because it covers and prohibits general laws and rules that can still impinge upon religious freedom when such laws and rules are not strictly necessary for the public good and if there is a less restrictive option available. However, what Governor Sisolak goes even beyond the question of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, since specific targeting of region is recognized as being Unconstitutional beyond that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Such targeting is what Governor Sisolak, <a href=\"https:\/\/nvhealthresponse.nv.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Declaration-of-Emergency-Directive-013.4-08-20-2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">beyond general prohibitions and restrictions<\/a>, ordered via emergency directive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\" align=\"center\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">My thoughts on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovSisolak?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@GovSisolak<\/a>\u2019s church ban. It\u2019s a mistake, most obviously because it\u2019s unnecessary. Most places of worship have closed voluntarily. But <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LasVegasLocally\/status\/1248648272530432003\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">to specifically target churches<\/a> is <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LasVegasLocally\/status\/1248667044964270080\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">beyond reprehensible<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;What makes this even more reprehensible is that while persecuting religious services who otherwise comply with general directives, the building of Allegiant Stadium is considered more important that social\/physical distancing compliant religious services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Thankfully, due to the intervention of the City of Las Vegas, specifically City Councilwoman Victoria Seaman, amongst others, a drive in service, with not physical distancing violations, was allowed and came off while avoiding the crowd disease vector which was the original purpose of limiting directives!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\" align=\"center\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Update: After discussion with our City Attorney Brad Jerbic International Church of Las Vegas (ICLV) will hold their drive-in service.
