{"id":16355,"date":"2020-02-26T01:28:40","date_gmt":"2020-02-26T08:28:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/politicalhat.com\/?p=16355"},"modified":"2020-02-26T01:28:40","modified_gmt":"2020-02-26T08:28:40","slug":"florida-vs-the-gaia-cult","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2020\/02\/26\/florida-vs-the-gaia-cult\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida vs. The Gaia Cult"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;With the Florida Democratic Party supporting the concept of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2019\/10\/23\/florida-democrats-swamps-are-people-too\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nature rights<\/a>\u201d by which swamps and such are given legal rights, including a legal right for eco-nutjobs to sue on nature\u2019s behalf, it was almost inevitable that the state of Florida would consider what the state of <a href=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/2019\/08\/05\/ohio-vs-the-gaia-cult\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ohio<\/a> did: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/florida-bill-to-ban-nature-rights\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Explicitly banning<\/a> any such \u201cnature rights\u201d insanity.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRight now, nature-rights laws in the U.S. are being passed at the municipal level, with more than 30 cities already passing such laws. [\u2026] Florida Republican state representative Blaise Ingoglia has authored a bill to outlaw municipalities from passing nature-rights laws in the Sunshine State. From HB 1199:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2018A local government regulation, ordinance, code, rule, comprehensive plan, charter, or any other provision of law may not recognize or grant any legal rights to a plant, an animal, a body of water, or any other part of the natural environment that is not a person or political subdivision\u2026or grant such person or political subdivision any specific rights relating to the natural environment not otherwise authorized in general law or specifically granted in the State Constitution.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15812\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/no-nature-rights.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"316\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/no-nature-rights.jpg 320w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/no-nature-rights-300x296.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;With actual human rights being increasingly treated as dispensations from the government, rights given to swamps and such could easily trump actual human rights.
