     Do you believe that men are biological males, women are biological females, and one can not change that? If so, congratulations with being legally \u201cincompatible with human dignity\u201d, you doubleplusungood<\/a> thoughtcriminal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Dr. David Mackereth worked as a disability assessor for the UK\u2019s Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Last year, the department fired him after being questioned by an employment agency official about how he would handle clients who asked to be referred to as members of the opposite sex. <\/p>\n

“Belief in Genesis 1:27, lack of belief in transgenderism and conscientious objection to transgenderism in our judgment are incompatible with human dignity and conflict with the fundamental rights of others, specifically here, transgender individuals,\u2019 the ruling declared.<\/p>\n

“‘Without intellectual and moral integrity, medicine cannot function and my 30 years as a doctor are now considered irrelevant compared to the risk that someone else might be offended,\u2019 Mackereth said in response to the ruling.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“‘This is an astonishing judgment and one that if upheld will have seismic consequences not just for the NHS and for Christians but anyone in the workplace who is prepared to believe and say that we are created male and female,\u2019 CLC chief executive Andrea Williams responded in a press release. \u2018It is deeply disturbing that this is the first time in the history of English law that a judge has ruled that free citizens must engage in compelled speech. Here Judge Perry has ruled that Christianity is not protected by the Equality Act or the ECHR, unless it is a version of Christianity which recognises transgenderism and rejects a belief in Genesis 1:27.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

     Not only is this a case of compelled speech that violates one\u2019s conscience, and a compulsion that requires one to lie (or at least a Hobson\u2019s choice), but it is a condemnation of the belief itself. In other words, the doctor who was fired was guilty of thoughtcrime<\/i>.<\/p>\n

     Believing that men are biological males, women are biological females, and one can not change that is now akin to Nazi ideology<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“Phillips [the Christian Legal Center’s counsel for Mackereth ] said the panel put \u2018transgender rights\u2019 ahead of Christian freedoms \u2018and in effect forces Christians to use compelled speech in order to not offend those who believe in gender-fluidity.\u2019<\/p>\n

“‘The ruling will have profound ramifications, excluding foundational Christian beliefs from the protection of human rights and anti-discrimination law. The ruling puts a belief in the Bible on a par with the racist and neo-Nazi ideologies which have been held to be \u201cnot worthy of respect in democratic society\u201d in earlier judicial decisions.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

     Any bets that they would never have done this to a Muslim, or declared the Koran to be \u201cincompatible with human dignity\u201d?<\/p>\n

     But then, this never was about “dignity”, now, was it? Perhaps Theodore Dalrymple said it best.<\/p>\n
