     California, where banning plastic straws<\/a> is all the rage, and where there have been serious attempts to ban everything from printed receipts<\/a> to the internal combustion engine<\/a>, is not pushing forward with an initiative to make it illegal for hotels to give you those little bottles of shampoo<\/a>, condition, and\/or lotion. And if they do, they’ll get a fine of up to $2000.<\/p>\n

     This new Chapter 6.1 of the Public Resources Code (really?), adds section 42372 (that’s a lot of sections!) to read<\/a>, in part: “A lodging establishment shall not provide a small plastic bottle containing a personal care product to a person staying in a sleeping room accommodation, in any space within the sleeping room accommodation, or in an area that is shared by the public or guests.<\/em>“<\/p>\n

     Oh, they encourage “bulk dispensers”, but at this point is there any doubt that eventually they will ration how much they dispense? Let’s just hope they don’t do the same with the toilet paper…<\/p>\n
