A recent study linked Dubuque\u2019s crime wave directly to Section 8 housing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Of course, even when reality mugs leftists, they never scrap their social theories. They just double down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The problem, they rationalized, was that the relocation wasn\u2019t aggressive enough. They concluded they could get the desired results if they placed urban poor in even more affluent areas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;HUD recently tested this new theory in Dallas with disastrous results.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Starting in 2012, the agency sweetened Section 8 voucher payments, and pointed inner-city recipients to the far-flung counties surrounding Dallas. As government-subsidized rentals spread in all areas of the Metroplex (163 ZIP codes vs. 129 ZIP codes), so did crime.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;But won&#8217;t smart and honest civil servants eventually get this correct and make everything right?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" title=\"Eagle Divider\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The Obama administration wants to make it illegal to for schools to inquire about whether the people are admitting are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/blog\/2016\/05\/feds-order-colleges-stop-checking-criminalschool-discipline-history-discriminates-minorities\/\" target=\"_blank\">criminals<\/a> or not:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The Obama administration has ordered the nation&#8217;s colleges and universities to stop asking applicants about criminal and school disciplinary history because it discriminates against minorities. Institutions are also being asked to offer those with criminal records special support services such as counseling, mentoring and legal aid once enrolled. The government\u2019s official term for these perspective students is &#8216;justice-involved individuals&#8217; and the new directive aims to remove barriers to higher education for the overwhelmingly minority population that\u2019s had encounters with the law or disciplinary issues through high school.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;At least we have the Supreme Court to stop this madness, right?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5371\" title=\"Eagle Divider\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line.gif 500w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eag_line-300x22.gif 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Yup, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.powerlineblog.com\/archives\/2016\/05\/what-a-hillary-shaped-supreme-court-would-look-like.php\" target=\"_blank\">Supreme Court<\/a> under a Hillary Clinton presidency would be the final mutation of America stemming from the Left&#8217;s <em>fundamental transformation<\/em> thereof.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Mark Tushnet of Harvard Law School is one of the leading leftists in legal academia today. Yesterday on Jack Balkin\u2019s website Balkinization, Tushnet lets it all hang out how he thinks a reliably liberal Supreme Court should think and act. &#8220;\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;A jurisprudence of &#8216;wrong the day it was decided.&#8217; Liberals should be compiling lists of cases to be overruled at the first opportunity on the ground that they were wrong the day they were decided.\u00a0 My own list is Bakke (for rejecting all the rationales for affirmative action that really matter), Buckley v. Valeo (for ruling out the possibility that legislatures could develop reasonable campaign finance rules promoting small-r republicanism), Casey (for the &#8216;undue burden&#8217; test), and Shelby County. (I thought about including Washington v. Davis, but my third agenda item should be enough to deal with it.) Others will have their own candidates. What matters is that overruling key cases also means that a rather large body of doctrine will have to be built from the ground up.
