Ronald Reagan and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy appeared on a trans-Atlantic broadcast with students\/Communist plants called &#8220;Town Meeting of the World&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reagan was on point and clearly well informed.\u00a0 RFK was equivocating and weak.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nvF30YEM6S8\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;After the debate, Kennedy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freerepublic.com\/focus\/f-news\/1150524\/posts\" target=\"_blank\">told<\/a> his aide Frank Mankiewicz &#8220;Who the f&#8212; got me into this&#8230; Never, ever again put me on telefision with him.\u00a0 It was impossible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This raised the possibility that if Kennedy had not been assassinated, than <em>Reagan<\/em> would have been elected President in 1968.\u00a0 Nixon was able to get the nomination on the first ballot because of the powerbrokers could guarantee their state&#8217;s delegation for <em>only<\/em> the first ballot.\u00a0 If Kennedy had not been shot, and had gained the Democrat nomination, would have likely frightened those Republican powerbrokers to <em>not<\/em> even guarantee their state&#8217;s delegations on the first ballot out of fear of Nixon losing to <em>another<\/em> Kennedy.\u00a0 In such a case, they might have very well gone with the one Republican who had proven himself able to verbally b***h slap RFK.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Reagan-vs-RFK.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"Reagan vs RFK\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10241\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Reagan-vs-RFK.png 453w, https:\/\/impeachreno.org\/politicalhat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Reagan-vs-RFK-300x204.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1px) 100vw, 1px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><meta name=\"twitter:card\" content=\"summary_large_image\"><meta name=\"twitter:site\" content=\"@PoliticHatblog\"><meta name=\"twitter:creator\" content=\"@ThePoliticalhat\"><meta name=\"twitter:title\" content=\"The Great Reagan Kennedy Debate\"><meta name=\"twitter:description\" content=\"In 1967, then Gov.
